Bicycle Accident
Riding a bike is more than a way of getting from one place to another for a lot of Californians. It’s a hobby, a fun way to spend a day by the beach and rarely ever associated with a negative outcome.
As a rider, there come situations where another vehicle may not see you coming, leaving you in a vulnerable position while enjoying your bike ride. Sharing the road with many other commuters who travel using cars, buses, trucks, and motorcycles also means that you run the risk of being involved in an accident with one or more of these vehicles.
Additionally, when you ride a bicycle, you become more exposed than someone in a vehicle. As other vehicles are more secure, this heightens your chances of being involved in an accident. Even if you follow all the proper safety measures (wearing reflective clothing and helmet, using hand signals, etc.), your bicycle is simply not as visible on the road as other, bigger vehicles. If a car driver isn’t paying attention while driving, the two of you can end up in an accident.
