John W. Shaver, Esq. is a plaintiffs’ trial attorney representing individuals and families who have been harmed by the negligent, reckless, or intentional conduct of another. Mr. Shaver’s practice covers an array of civil litigation matters, including catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, and medical malpractice.

Mr. Shaver’s legal background includes years of litigation and trial experience as a former defense attorney during which he represented corporations and insurance companies in cases involving transportation and common carrier liability, insurance bad faith, contract disputes and general liability. Mr. Shaver’s familiarity with the defense’s tools and tactics has been an asset to the individuals and families he represents. For example, from Mr. Shaver’s experience representing some of the largest trucking and transportation companies in the country, he understands that some trucking companies sacrifice safety for profits by skirting state and federal safety regulations, thereby putting innocent motorists’ lives in danger. He believes strongly in victims’ rights, and he dedicates a portion of his practice to the victims of catastrophic trucking accidents.
Education Mr. Shaver graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Production. He earned his Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law (2009), where he received a Creative Problem Solving scholarship.

While in law school, Mr. Shaver clerked for the U.S. Attorney’s Office and for the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office.

He also earned the award of Moot Court Distinguished Advocate for his success in trial advocacy competitions.
